Quite often we are asked for ideas on using the black Art Squares. In today's posting, Dina was pleasantly surprised by what occurred as she applied metallic acrylic paint to a 3" square!
Turns out the irridescent quality of the paint appeared differently depending on if she was layering over another color, or directly on the black surface - all the more a perfect pairing as this image is of a butterfly wing.
Most people don't know that our black Art Squares are not made from trees, but are actually 100% cotton fiber and are colored not with dye, but natural ebony. This gives them a very distinctive super black appearance - perfect for paints, pastels, chalks and solid pigments.
